I just found out about Paul. We got together three years ago when I returned to Jacksonville for a visit. We had such a good time and he came over to the family home where made so many memories over the years. I am devastated that I am just finding out and that none of the McGowans have heard from our family. We loved Paul and always considered him a second brother. My thoughts and prayers go to all of you and pray for your healing. I was so moved by your obituary and tribute. That was Paul...Carolyn McMurray Ullman

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of Paul. I have known Paul since 1977, when he was a Postal clerk at Pottsburg Station, where I was a letter carrier and later became the shop steward for the carriers in 1978. He was a well liked man and I saw that his heart was with the Union's mission of helping, representing, and fighting for the carriers. Later on, after I had left Pottsburg, I was surprised and happy to see he had become a carrier and came straight to the Union to become active in the fight. During his illustrious service to the Union he developed a knowledge of the contract and decisions pertaining to that contract that was second to none. If you had a question about the contract, you could always go to him and be confident that you would get the right advice. He was a stalwart and strong representative of NALC. He was passionate and dedicated in his representation of his fellow Letter Carriers. If he was representing you, you knew that he was firmly on your side. He was a good and great man. He was a well loved man by both his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. May God bless, comfort, and assure you, his family, in this time of grief and sorrow, that Paul is safe with Him, now, and that Paul still loves you as you love him and that this love is forever, as is the love that our Heavenly Father has for us all.
