To my dear sweet extended family. I am so sorry that I cannot be there for support and to share the few special times I had with Bill Allen as my brother. I am so glad that there was a chance to come and see him and visit and hug him and laugh with him. Nancy I want to thank you for giving him so much happiness in his life. What a wonderful gift that was. It was so wonderful to talk to him on the phone and have him say "You know I luv ya" in that beautiful accent from the South. He will always have a very special spot in my heart and I luv him too. His little sister, Sue

Nancy, Cheryl & Elaine (and all the rest of his family)...my thoughts are with you. Bill was one of the bright spots in my days at MECO. I love the picture you selected, it's just as I remembered him, with a twinkle of mischief in his eye!

I knew Bill Gothard for many years. I issued him burn permits, as I worked for City of Jax. I enjoyed talking with him for hours. He was a wise and wonderful man. The world has lost a great man. [email protected]

The dear Mr. Bill , was not just a sit down kind of guy, he would lend a hand in advice and of a Real True neighbor. I remember him saying oh , no it wasn't a Rattle snake and oh yes I remarked, showed him the picture, so he brings his son-N- law accross the swamp to ask if I still had the picture no, but on the net so I show him and he says, I'm going to get my boots, Mr. Bill looked back and grinned. he was always teachin one to be prepared, and wise.He shared not a drawn out story of korea but what I needed as I spoke the truth of my father never talkin and with drawn. Mr. Bill, I still see you at the fence line, I still see you grin as I get up manuer and you and shurod went on a ride yo come back to still shoveling and me talkin to the bull. Curtious, a true friend and neighbor, and a great marine I could tell. My deepest condolences to nancy a fine woman and neighbor, I thankyou for your hospitality and sharing your great Husband and friend that he was. All thoughts and prayers are with the family and my deepest sympathy/ Love always Shurod and BJ... Betty Jean we will always be there for you nancy even though we are not at the fence no more. hugs

Nancy, Elaine, Alan, Cheryl & Beth- Our thoughts and prayers are here to lift you during this difficult time. You can be comforted to know that your husband/Dad did a lot of good things and helped a lot of people during his life. He shrugged off unbelievable challenges early in his life and instead of taking advantage and becoming a victim, he became a successful contributor to our industry and our society in general. Everywhere he went and with everyone he met he left lasting impressions, and many times leaving "something to ponder." He was the textbook Marine. Those who knew him best knew he had a tough outer skin, but also a huge heart. I know you guys are all proud of him and his accomplishments. No doubt in my mind that you are all better people because of Bill as well as many others who's lives he touched over the years, including myself. I am so thankful to have been able to spend some time with him recently. It was a great visit where we talked and laughed about the past. Heaven is a better place now and I'm sure that his place is now getting "squared away". Semper Fidelis (Latin for: Always Faithful) Bill! We do love you and you will be missed till we see you again.

I loved him so much and was very proud of him in every way - a great man, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, and above all a loving brother. I will miss him. His service in the Korean War was his gift to the US. Peace to all of his wonderful family. Billie Anne
