PATTON (Hollon), Dorothy Edna "Dotty" 91, of Dayton, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Grace Brethren Village in Englewood, Ohio. She was born August 27, 1923 in Middletown, Ohio. A graduate of Middletown High School, she was a tutor and a Member of the National Honor Society, winning prizes in Art and French. She worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base from 1942 to 1949. She worked for the Dayton Board of Education from 1961 to 1981. She was the first secretary for the Head Start program, and a school secretary at Residence Park and Loos Elementary Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents, William R. and Ella Hollon; husband, Charles Richard Patton; daughter, Sandra Lee "Sandy" Patton; sister, Marie Parrella; brother, William Hollon; nephew, Teddy Parrella and best friend, Elinor Patton Amidon. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara "Bobbie" Patton Martin; son-in-law, Thomas O. Martin; granddaughter, Colleen Elizabeth Patton Martin; sister, Hazel Brill; nieces, Teresa DiCristoforo, Blanche Bailey, Lou Ann Kerry and Beverly Gardner; as well as nephews, Jack Parrella, Alan Brill, Bill and Greg Hollon. The family extends its appreciation to the staff of Grace Brethren Village. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Shiloh Church-United Church of Christ. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home, 5555 Philadelphia Dr., at N. Main St., Dayton, OH 45415. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-1 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the funeral home. Online memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerhazelsnider.com
