My best to Eddie's family. He worked on the police department with my dad, Dick Smythe. They were friends, especially after I became an athlete at Findlay College. I remember Eddie as always smiling and a true gentleman. My dad said he was an outstanding officer for TPD. My dad passed in 1975 while still on the department.

Jackie and Family, I don't think I need to tell you how much Eddie meant to me, you already know. When I met Eddie 24 years ago, I had no idea what an influence he (and his family) would become in my life. I can't begin to tell you how much I learned from him. Most of which, simply by watching the way he interacted with people and the way he lived his life. The love and respect I have for him is unmatched. Eddie was so many peoples "Rock," including my own. There is a huge ache in my heart but, I know that he is "humming" with the angels and still has a watchful eye on all of us. God Bless the Turner family.

Dearest Jackie, Patrick and family:
My deepest felt sympathy to you for the loss
of "Big Daddy" as I called Mr Eddie. I have enjoyed the friendship we shared through the years at Libbey High School and beyond.
Mr Eddie is now resting in the arms of our beloved Lord. May he rest in peace and glory.
