Coach was a very outstanding and inspirational person in my life and I thought of him and his guidance often over the years. Because of other factors at the time I did not play for Coach but his recruiting speech and guidance were overwhelming and for years and years thereafter I sure wish I would have made the other decision.

We will miss you coach.

Coach Lauterbur recruited me to join the Long Gray in 1958 and my son followed in 1983. Coach Lauterbur's name is mentioned often in our family history discussions. Coach pushed you hard and was good at convincing you that you could always do better. He was admired by many. His family is in our prayers. May he rest in peace.

Coach Lauterbur played a huge role in my life. He gave me the opportunity to play football with a great group of guys and a great group of asst. coaches. I will always appreciate the recruting speech he gave me "Stay in Toledo with all of these Toledo guys." There was never a better group. Thanks Coach and God Bless You. Don Wyper
