Gene E. Winters
Gene E. Winters, 91, formerly of Toledo and current resident of Waterville, Ohio, passed away Sunday morning, September 9, 2018, at his home. Gene worked for the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1983. In his retirement he worked as a courier for Sky Bank/MidAm Bank. Gene served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Gene was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America; a charter member of Monclova Road Baptist Church and was past president of the P.T.O. at Reynolds Elementary School.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Edna McGinnis Winters; son, Raymond Winters; daughter, Jennifer Mulvey; grandsons, Matthew Woodard and Trevor Manore; step-daughters, Liesa Radford and Kay Kratz. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Marion Moran Winters; daughter, Tamra Nuding (Tom); step-daughter, Tiffanie Schroeder (Jeff); ten grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, on Friday, September 14th from 10 a.m. until the funeral service begins at Noon. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Gene's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio. Gene, You were an amazing man and Great Father-in-Law. I always considered you a friend and a Sweet and thoughtful Grandfather to my Girls YOUR Granddaughters Heather and Brittany. You will be thought of often and with much Love...You had a wonderful life and will remain forever in our hearts Lots of Love
