Sorry about your loss, Marty and David. Moms are so special.
Barby was an awesome storyteller, teacher and friend. She wove so many wonderful memories that enriched our lives. Our storytelling angel. RIP dear friend. Find comfort in her great spirit, David and Marty.
I was honored to consider you a friend and I will miss you, Barby.
Barby was awesome. I love(d) her and Jim like my 2nd parents growing up. Love you David and Marty.
My previous entry was not signed...it is from Barbara Masten / Lourdes University
My heart is breaking hearing the news regarding Barby. I so enjoyed working with her at Lourdes and will miss seeing her and hearing of her latest teaching adventure. I last saw her at the Physical Therapy locale where she and I were both rehabbing our replacement knees. Even then she was spry and being the Barby I had always known and loved. Know that I keep all the family in my prayers so that God's blessings help all of you get through this sad time.
As a Lourdes student, I was inspired by this progressive thinking professor. She taught me not to be intimidated by the classics but embrace them and the curiosity they spawned. Barbara was a very unique person, always finding the humor and positive in situations and inspiring others to reach for the stars. She cared for and about others. I saw her as a living example of grace reaching out to others. May she rest in peace.
As a former student of her at Lourdes, I will always remember the passion she shared with every student of her love of reading, and her wonderful stories that kept me intrigued. She drew me to love reading, and inspired me to write. I am deeply sorry for your loss. Please know that all who had the opportunity to work with her and learn from her have gained so very much.
When she walked in the door at the Sanger Branch Library, I knew there was going to be some good talk, shared insights, some time well-spent and a bright spot in my day.
My thoughts are with her family.
