R.I.P. Harry. I remember as a kid growing up how excited I used to be when I was allowed to go to the baseball tournaments. Harry coach my father Jim as long as I can remember. I was blessed to have you as part of my life. You'll be missed so very much and you're the person we all inspired to be. You will never be forgotten Harry.
Harry was a special person in Bob Verbon's eyes. I am sending his sympathy to his family because Bob is 84 and is having a hard time coping with his loss of special friends..Harry was his favorite.
Bob Verbon and Lynn
Harry accomplished what everyone should strive for... positively impacting those who were fortunate enough to meet him. He was dedicated to baseball, but his underlying accomplishment was to bring together a group of inidividuals and mentor them to work together and perform as a team. Harry is probably the winningest coach that Northwest Ohio will ever see, not only in the amount of games his teams played in and won, but also the number of men who became better in all aspects of life because they played for him. Marlene, thanks for sharing Harry with us all these years... your support was an integral part of his being able to help so many people. On behalf of Ann, Allison, and Lindsay... we will miss Harry but never forget him. God Bless, Bob Oehlers.
RIP Harry no more pain and suffering So sorry Marlene for your loss Harry & his Dad were 2 of my favorites Love Nancy
Harry was a good coach and a tough guy. His teams were always competitive and taught my teams many lessons. I will miss him. Fred Cieslewski, Woodward baseball,
Harry Young is baseball. I only hope that I can spread the joy to the amount of people he has about the great game of baseball in my lifetime. I wonder who's playing first base for Harry's team right now?
There are very few people in our lives that have the kind of positive impact Harry had. Although it has been many years since I was able to play for and know Harry, these were clearly some of the best years of my life. He made the game fun and treated each of us like we were family whether we winnning or losing. He was a very generous man to give so much of his time and money to support amateur baseball for all these years.
He certainly will be missed by all who knew him and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Young family.
Harry, you were a great man and a great coach. I am a better person because I knew you.
Marlene, Kevin, Keith and all of your family. I would like to thank you all so uch for sharing Harry with us. Our family has so much to be thankful just for having known all of you. Harry will always be remembered here for his great smile, his jokes and his true friendship. We have all learned so much from just being around him and Marlene. We wish all of you the best in your tie of healing. I know that Harry never wanted any of us to worry about him or fuss over him. Well that is one wish that he wont get. We love you Harry Young and always will. We will remmain close to your family and celebrate your life. You have made my life so much better as my truly great friend. FOREVER YOUNG.
I loved playing for Harry, I am very sorry for your loss.
Marlene, Kevin, Keith my prayers are with you during this time. Gos's grace, mercy and love are truly evident when we celebrate the husband, father and friend Harry was to us. The Sparky Anderson of amateur baseball will always be with us.
Kevin and I have know each other since early childhood. For some reason back than Kevin used to refer to me by my dads name, Elliot and I would refer to Kevin as Harry. When I became old enough to play ball Harry was my coach every other year because of my age. I had though Harry was from the Deep South because of his slow souther drawl.
As we grew older Harry was always quick with a joke, baseball stories that always seem to be about the Yankees, and if I was having any luck with the ladies. I still thought Harry was from the south. Harry and Marlene always made me feel welcomed when I'd go over to visit.
My true regret is Kevin had asked me to stop in and visit Harry the next time I was in town, Unfortunately I wasn't able to do that,I wish now I had. Mar, Kev, and Sweets I'm truly sorry for your loss, Harry was a great man. I'm sorry I can't be there tomorrow but I'll be sure to say a prayer for God's new third base coach.
Marlene, so sorry to hear about Harry. Enjoyed the time spent with him, especially while he was building the house. You will remain in my thoughts & prayers.
Marlene, Kevin, and Keith,
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to play for Harry. His love for baseball and the fun I had playing on his team is something I'll never forget.
Dear Harry, You left to soon.Find a good BaseBall Game with good seats behind HomeBase.I'll be their soon. Love, Nick Gangas
There are very few people in our lives that can have such a positive influence as Harry did for me and so many of his former players. He was a great man who gave his time and money to make the game of Baseball available to so many of us. While it has been many years since I had played for Harry, it is clearly some of the best times of my life. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
Marlene, Kevin, Keith.. So sorry to hear of your loss..Harry was a role model for me since the first days he coached me at Wernert baseball fields.. Even though I was not the greatest baseball player Harry made me feel special as a player and as a person..I can honestly say that he help shape the person that I am today with his kindness & humor...God Bless...

I know you have heard this from hundreds of friends/family, but I want to tell you that Harry was an incredible coach, mentor and most importantly, a friend to me. I will miss his phone calls and conversations about baseball, life, and family. He was truly one of a kind, and I am a better person for having him in my life. I want to thank you for sharing him with the rest of us...he was truly a blessing to us all. Love you guys.
I knew Harry and his dad as a youngster growing up in the Detroit and Central Ave. area. I always looked up to him as a model for us younger kids. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. Jim Bridge
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
Harry and I knew each other as young boys and had been long-time friends since then. I am very fortunate to have known him for more than 70+ years.
He was a gracious man and will not be forgotten. Your family is in my thoughts.
Thank you for the wonderful house you built us 35 years ago, where we still live. Harry will forever be remembered by myself and Angie for his pleasant demeanor, easy going, and "get-r-done" commitment. They don't make many men as good as Harry anymore.

Marlene - I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Harry. He will be missed. Debbie Chapman/Sylvan Lakes Family Physicians
This year in Florida I looked up Harry to "say hey", get a smile and tell him how much I appreciated him never thinking it was my last chance. I am thankful to have met Harry 24 years ago when he brought his team to my "Dayton Spring Classic" we played in April.....I loved his baseball charm, his vigor for the game and most of all his natural way of showing people he cared. Love that and will take it with me....Steve Penix - Dayton Braves
Marlene and Family,

Marlene and Family,
As you know, your Family has been very special to Darlene and I.
Harry was a 2nd Dad to me and I cherish all the memories that he provided. Not only did I get to play the game I loved but also had the opportunity to play with some great friends.
When you look back to reflect on your life, you don't come up with many individuals that truly have impacted your life as Harry did mine. Not only did Harry help me with the game of baseball but also in the game of life for which I am forever grateful.
Marlene thank you for all of your support, generosity but most of all thank you sharing Harry with all of us!
I got to know Harry playing against the Builders in the Old Man League. He was always so competitive on the field, but quick to wanna get to know you after the game. I grew to really enjoy competing against him. When I was in a pinch, and wanted to go to Florida with the guys and play, Harry stepped up and helped me out. I will never forget that... He allowed me to make that happen, playing in Fort Meyers was a ton of fun.. I owe those memories to Harry. He was a lot of fun to be around, always telling jokes and keeping it light and fun, but he most certainly wanted to win. I hope to have half of the enthusiasm as he had up until the end. Rest in peace big guy...
Marlene, Keith and Kevin, we are so sorry to hear about Harry's passing. He has so much passion for the game and we treasure the times we spent with the Builders playing ball. Please know that you all are in our prayers.
I remember Harry Don and his father, Don with fond memories. My mother owned Doris & Vicky's restaurant which was Don Young's first. May your memories get you through this hard time.
Our hearts go out to Marlene, Keith, Kevin and all of Harry's family. Being involved with Harry Young and baseball has meant so much to our family over the last 35 years. It was not only winning baseball games but the great experiences, great friends we have made and such great memories. The memories we have made cannot be spent but are priceless to my family and me. The bottom line is that being involved with Harry has made my life better in so many ways. We will miss you immensely!
Thank you Harry and Marlene for all you have done!
So sorry for the your loss Marlene, Keith, and Kevin. I can not tell you how many times that man made me laugh in the dugout! If it weren't for him I would of stopped playing ball a long time ago. He was a great man! God bless.

Harry is a good man, we should all want to be like him. I worked with Harry for many years in my lighting business and I and my colleagues loved Harry. He will be missed. My condolences to the family and to all who loved Harry.
Marlene, I am so sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers go out to you, Lauren and your entire family.
Harry was a second father to me and many others. My family and I are so blessed to have him in our lives. He was definitely one-of-a-kind. Laura and I extend our condolences to Marlene, Kevin, Keith, and the rest of his family.
One of the finest men I've known. As was his Dad. I suspect Harry and Don are putting together a batch of Turtle Soup or Chicken and Dumplings about now. Harry's Dad, Don was a great story teller and teacher. I always regretted that I didn't learn sign painting from Don. He was a Master. Harry was a compassionate and helped out a great number of people in need. My sincere condolences to the family.
Our Sincere Condolences to Marlene, sons and family. My sons and I had the great pleasure and honor of meeting Harry and Marlene years ago, and we Thank you for opening your hearts to us and our family . We are so deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend Harry. He was truly an amazing person. He gave so much of himself to every one that knew him. We have so many wonderful memories that he gave us and we will always remember his amazing smile. We will always be here for Marlene and all of the family.
My Heart Felt Condolences, to Marlene, Kevin, and Keith, and the rest of the family.I grew up through jr. high and high school playing for Harry, with Kevin, Had Fun, Learned a lot, enjoyed Harry's sense of humor. From All Of the Rightnowar's, Thank You Harry and Rest in Peace.
Harry and I were classmates of Scott High School 1950. We shared many friends that we were fortunate to have at our 60th class reunion. He was a good friend and a stand-up guy.
Harry Don,as he was known as at Spratts Sohio was a very unique individidual, well liked, good sense of humor, smart, well respected, and always with that great smile that showed that gold tooth. Harry Don also had the good sense to marry, Marlene who changed his life around forever. Harry Don had a very well respected name in the commuity, and as Solomon once said, " a good name is better then precious oil" Most of all Harry Don had a great name and was respected by all who had the good fortune to know him. In my Jewish religion, when we greet someone we say " Shalom Alechim", which means peace be with you, and the refrain from the one we meet is " Alechim Shalom " which means upon you may be there be peace . Harry Don, I say to you Alechim Shalom and Shalom Alechim , peace to you and may it be everlasting! My deepest sympathy to the entire Young family.Rest well, Harry Don .....Jerry
