Mr. Jackson is what we called him, and he was a real nice person. My brothers and I (Anthony, Brian, and me, Matthew) would play ball with Jimmy when he was smaller. My dad, Louis L. Davis was good friends with Mr. Jackson. your family are in my prayers.
My condolences to the family. Jim was one of the great guys to hang around with at the downtown YMCA noon games. He was pretty quiet - but always had a smile and that impish grin, like he just played a joke on someone. Jim will be missed but never forgotten.

Even in the heat of the battle during those high school games, James was always calm, cool, and collected. I was a business teacher at Whitney Vocational school. Whitney was part of the Macomber complex. I remember the day when a helicopter landed outside our classroom window. Out step several recruiters to interview Jimmy. I was not a sport fan but soon learned from the coaches what a nice and capable young man Jimmy Jackson was and truly deserving of all the attention. May he rest in peace.
