He loved his children! Sorry for my emotional response. I may not have seen him much, but he text me often with prayers and sermons.
Jesse, Ty for allowing me to take you to different churches so could minister. Thank You for elbowing me in the side so I could get over that shyness I had so I could read the scriptures out loud during church. I also still remember you said you was going to say Come tie my bow tie really fast so people thought you was speaking in tongues to teach them about being carnal. You was right they jumped up and was dancing around. Belinda and I were laughing. We tried not to but we just couldnt help it.
I loved Jesse as my big brother. I love all of his family members that I know and met.
This is to all of his friends and family. I died on Oct. 24, 2012. I was aware I died. I felt God's Pureness when I died. God's pure love, joy, peace, hope, happiness, expectation, excitment, plus more feelings. Yes you experience them on earth but when you die they are all Pure. I had so much excitment, love, expectation of going to go see my Jesus and My God. I couldnt wait the more I was dead the more I felt. Then I woke up in the back of a Cleveland Clinic Ambulance. The first thing I said was I told you not to bring me back.
My Pastor Ofelia told me last Wednesday Night that Jesse died last month. I started to cry heavy but God said to me why are you crying? You experienced some of heaven. Be joyfull be happy. Jesse was saved and now in heaven. The joy of the Lord hit me so hard my crying turned instantly to laughing not because he died. Because I know what I felt when I died.
I pray that this blessed and helped someone. To all the family I love you and I am praying for you.
To the Coleman family, may God forever find a resting place for your hearts. My family also went to high school with the Coleman's . Always was cool people. May God continue to bless and keep you in your time of sorrow and know that He wlll always be there when you need Him. The Reese family.

I will truly miss my "Friend in Jazz" who through my love for jazz also became my "good" friend. When Jesse played, I was there to support him and the entire Jazz circuit. Jesse played at my 55th birthday party last January 2012. I am so glad I have pictures to remind me of joy I felt when he played and celebrated with me. Whenever in his presence we always connected to say hello or talk about the next jazz event we wanted to attend. Thanks for sharing your father, brother and loved one with the rest of us. Stay strong and always remember "We loved Jesse" He is playing his sax in heaven now rockin the house!!! God Bless you always
I thank God for giving me the opportunity to perform with Jesse; especially at the Dearborn Outdoor Festival. I will always remember how he "shined" at the Collingwood Art Center's 25th Anniversary with Claude Black. He taught me a few things on the alto saxophone which I am very grateful. Some of my greatest fond memories is when we jammed at the Maumee Theater with Calvin Hughes and others; 151 On The Water; Our Brother's Place; Infinity Lounge; Kent Library and Warren AME Church.
I was fortunate to play with his brother, James and his son, Jesse, Jr. My prayers go out to both of their families. He will be greatly missed.
I thank God for having the privilege to perform with Jesse; especially at the Dearborn Outdoor Festival. I truly appreciated him teaching me a few things on the alto saxophone. I will never forget how he lit up the stage when we peformed at the Collingwood Arts Center's 25th Anniverary. I'll also remember when we jammed at the Maumee Theater with Calvin Hughes' Trio; Warren AME Concert; My Brother's Place; Kent Library; the Infinity Lounge and 151 On The Water. I'm glad I had a chance to meet and perform with your brother, James and son, Jesse, Jr. My heart goes out to them and their families. He will be greatly missed.
May God put his arms around you all, as you will miss your loved one that God has called home to rest. May all be well in knowing, to be absent from the body, means to be present with the Lord. God Bless and Keep you. Golwin and Kaye Williams
To the ENTIRE family of Jesse Coleman,
My prayers and thoughts are with you. I find myself truly fortunate to have known Jesse and experience his musical abilities, gifts and talents. God most certainly used him for HIS Glory!
May He give you the comfort that you desire and need during this difficult time.
To the children of Jesse- your father IS a LEGACY in his own right. I see that he has placed tremendous gifts with you. Continue to find joy in all that he has left with you, and know that there are angels (all musically inclined) that are encamped around you each day. For every musical note you hear is a message from your dad saying, "I am still here and I love you"
God bless you all!
TO THE COLEMAN FAMILY: MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. AMEN
