Pat & I are so sorry to read that your dad has passed away. Please accept our condolences for you, your mom, Brett and April. While life's events such as this are very sad, they are simultaneously times to reflect and be happy. We have warm memories of our associations with Dick and your entire family. I remember so very clearly how he was so proud of you, and how his eyes literally glistened with joy when you were with him! We were to be out of town during the visitation hours, but instead I was in the hospital, and thus we were be able to attend services at Walker Funeral Home. But know that we were thinking of you, and were there in heart.
I was talking with Dr. Bob Esplin the other day, and your name came up. He offered an impromptu report about an impressive, beautiful and wonderful girl named April that I am certain was the highlight of Dick's life! I would add that he had a pretty wonderful and impressive "daughter" that brightened his life as well! That's as good a legacy that life can yield! I am certain he will continue to brim with that pride while looking down as your new "guardian angle". In fact, I also suspect he intervened in the MSU vs UM basketball game last night, which seemed to parallel his verve for perfection and success!
We wish all of you the best.
Rob & Pat
