It looks like I'm the first to recall the brilliant, friendly and talented Virginia all the way back to our Ladyfield days. I always wanted to be on her team when there was any kind of art assignment. We still saw each other occasionally when I was at SFS and she was attending SUA.
Besides her intelligence and talent for the arts, she was just a wonderful person all the time, even when we rode that crazy school bus. I always saved a seat for her.
Mark, I knew Virginia when we were children because our fathers worked together at OI. I have pictures of the two of us and our parents on our boat on Lake Erie. I always wondered if she became a professional artist as she was, much to my jealousy, an incredible artist even as a child. I recognized her picture in the blade because of her beautiful dimples. You are in my prayers s. Diane Durholt Hohman
Dear Mark, I am sorry for your loss. She was a great woman and classmate.
I am so very sorry about the loss of Virginia. I knew her mainly by her stellar reputation, but always admired her. What a wonderful legacy she has left through all the beauty she created. Sending you prayers of comfort.
I so sorry to hear of your loss. I knew Virginia as Ginny at SUA. Later I had the honor of calling on her during my Fine Paper days. Her artistic talents were surpassed only by her gentle personality. I will keep you in my prayers.
Mark, So sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed my times working with you and Virgina at Design at Work.
Besides being an exceptional artist, Virginia was also a teacher. Back in the early 70's, she took a shy teenager under her wing and encouraged me to try all the varied ways art can be conjured up - through photography, sculpture, glassblowing, drawing, painting... She was fun, interesting and absolutely one-of-a-kind. I have wonderful memories of her as my "teacher" and laters as my boss. How lucky she happened in my life. I am sure Mark and her other close friends will feel an empty spot because her bright light is no longer shining on them.
Such a loss! Lost track of Ginny after SUA but see that she was very accomplished. Thoughts and prayers to her loved ones.
I, also, was a classmate of Ginny's and remember her well. I am sorry we all lost such a beautiful and talented lady so soon. My prayers are with all who knew her and feel the loss. Cathy Spieker Smith.
My deepest condolences, Mark. It has been years since we all worked at W/S. However, I remember what a friendly, kind-hearted, talented girl Virginia was way back when. Sorry for your loss, Mark. RIP Virginia.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
Ginny - as I called her in high school - was a wonderful friend.
I was a classmate of Virginia's and am so sorry to hear of her death. She was a lovely young woman and I'm sure she will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
