Kathy, Pat, John and Michael- I just heard about your dad and I am so very sorry. I remember him as my uncle of very few words but I always listened. I enjoyed speaking with him about years passed and he was still very witty. One of our many favorite uncles. I will miss him dearly.

Kathleen, Pat, John, and Michael -

Your parents were like second parents to me for many years and were two of the most incredible people I've ever known. Thoughts of your father's razor-sharp wit and brilliant mind make me smile even now. I have thought of him fondly over the years as I have worked with many attorneys, and none as brilliant as he. May he and your mother rest in peace in God's embrace, and may you and your families find comfort in your memories and in the realization that they live on in you and your children.

To the Burkhart Family:

Always remember your Mom & Dad growing up in St. Kate's. They were delightful. I especially enjoyed your Dad's letters to the editors. May they rest in Peace in God's arms.

I had the privilege of working for John during the Burkhart & Restivo days in the old Security Building and will always be grateful for his guidance, friendship and singular sense of humor. My condolences to his family. He will be sadly missed by so many.

I just imagine Blanche standing there waiting for him....how happy and smiling they both must be to be together again, To this day I'd NEVER met 2 people more in love years later than the day they were married.
Mr. Burkhart didn't always have a lot to say, but when he did his words and guidance are appreciated to this day. I'm a better person for having known him.
