My condolences to the family.

I worked with Len on some high profile cases while I was a detective with the Toledo Police Department and he was with the FBI. We knew each other when he was with TPD before transferring to the FBI.

One of the cases we worked on together was the shooting of TPD officers Bob Maxwell and Brad Weis. The story is one of 11 true crime stories in my last published book "City Soldiers." Len was not only a good detective but a close friend.

I will miss our breakfast's together with other past TPD officers, Dale Siefke, Jim Carnes, Bill Adams, Pat Allen and others from time to time. We recently lost TPD Officer Bob Poiry so our breakfast group is slowly getting smaller.

I am sorry I will not be able to attend the services but I have been confined at home fighting a bad case of the flu.

God Bless,

Frank Stiles

I only knew him through the Toledo Police Retiree's Dinners, but really enjoyed talking to him and listening to his stories. May the love and family and friends carry you through your grief.

Remember Leonard coming in to Bob Evans to eat with, I think it was his grandson. He was always smiling and in a good mood. Rest In Peace!

To Sharon and the Kaczmarek Family, so sorry for your loss. Len was an interesting man to talk to.
