To John and all the children---
My deepest sympathy for your loss of Mary. Like everyone from Staunton that knew her, I have fond memories of how truly sweet and gentle she was. At our high school reunion she had not changed; she still retained her spirituality and serenity. Words cannot express how much I empathize with your sorrow.

The wonderful teenager that I knew at Lee High School turned into an admirable woman. She touched many lives while on her journey here.

We're sorry for your loss. I met your mom only once. She had a sweet and gentile soul. She was a memorable person.

I will always remember Mary's sweet smile and disposition -- a true friend to all who knew her at Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton, VA. My sincere sympathies to all of her family.

We will miss her immensely. Mary was a terrific person - always warm, supportive, thoughtful, and welcoming. I am so blessed to have known her for 42 of my 50 years! It is hard to deal with the notion of a world without her in it, but she lives on through John and John Jr., Emily, Bess and Sarah.
