God Bless and rest in peace Mr Fisher... He taught me algebra, chemistry and physics in high school. More importantly, he taught me to be a good and respectful student. I am grateful to have been his student at Northwood High School (Class of 1986). Mr. Fisher is one of the teachers who inspired my passion for working with youth and teaching.

As I read the notes of sympathy I am amazed that Mr. Fisher touched so many , so deeply. I saw my own son's message as he had him for a teacher 20 years after we had him. WOW, he left such a legacy of caring & being a wonderful teacher and person to hundreds of students who will miss him dearly.

This is just some of what was said on Facebook...
Brandon Postlewaite I loved it when Mr Fisher would tell us we would not have school the next day by just looking at his barometer....

Bruce Sternberg Yeah you're right Brandon. Mr. Fisher knew what he was talking about. I would believe him right now over any body. That had to do with any weather. He was a very smart man. Mr Fisher will be missed .RIP mr. Fisher

Marcia Ferguson Garvin Chemistry was the first subject that ever frustrated me - Mr. Fisher told me to stop doubting myself, that I knew this better than I thought. I aced my next test. I have heard that phrase, in his voice, in my head many times over the years. I hope he knew how much he touched his students' lives... Good man....

Sorry for your loss. Roger was a friend from East Toledo, where I grew up 2 blocks from the family grocery store. We played basketball at the East Toledo YMCA in the summertime. He was an inspiration to me then and still.
