Ronald L.
Ronald L. Schmidt of Northwood, OH, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on October 1, 2013. Ron was born on October 15, 1939, in Toledo, OH, to Leo and Rose (Gezo) Schmidt. Ron graduated from Waite High School in 1957 and then went on to pursue his career in commercial art at the Detroit Institute of Art. He joined the US Marine Corps and then married his high school sweetheart, Jackie (Phillips) Schmidt, on May 5, 1962.
Ron was owner and operator of S & K Office Suppliers in East Toledo for more than 30 years. Ron was a proud East sider! Ron was a lifelong member of the Teutonia Mannerchor, GAF and spent many years volunteering his artistic talents to the GAF when it came to festival time. Ron was a member of the Chicken Shifts, a local hot rod club. He was also a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Latcha, OH and a Mason from the Lotus Lodge. He also loved snowmobiling, duck hunting, boating, fishing, and spending his weekends at his lakeside home in Marblehead, OH.
Preceding Ron in death were his parents and brother, Bob Schmidt. Surviving are his wife, Jackie; his only son, Scott (Kristi); his grand dog, Grayce; the light of his life, his only granddaughter, Autumn Grace; his brother, Gerry Schmidt; and sisters, Rosalie (Allen) Dong, and Charlotte (Terry) Eicher.
Visitation will be held at Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Avenue, Oregon, OH, on Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday at 10 a.m. followed by a service at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made Zion Lutheran Church, 26535 Pemberville Road, Perrysburg, OH or the charity of your choice.

Ron was truly one of the "great guys", always making you feel welcome and going out of his way to make sure everyone was having fun. He will be missed but he's left us with wonderful, great memories that will be with us forever.
