Felt like I knew him although we never met. What a classy announcer with such a distinctive voice. I can still hear "off the fourth turn it's A J Foyyyt" - how exciting. Thank you Mr. Carnegie for your part in making INDY the greatest spectacle in sport.

When I was a young boy, I would hear Mr. Carneigie's voice and I thought that was God talking. He was a great Man. Indiana will miss him!!! May God be with your family at this time.

The true voice of the Indianapolis 500 has gone silent for the last time.
I hope he and all of the men that raced there that are now gone are having a good time together. (Vuky, Tony Bettenhausen Sr, etc.)

Tom Carnegie was the voice of Spring. Memories of weekends at the lake, Indy time trials or the 500 on the radio. His voice is the one thing I remember as a kid
