Dear Gwynn family
I am truly sorry for you loss and you have my deepest sympathies. May you find comfort from God's promise to wipe every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be any more, the former things will pass away.

May you rest in peace Tony, you will never be forgotten in San Diego. God bless his family.

Gone too soon!! A great athlete and great person.
Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Whatever we were to each, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.

Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be the household word it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was;
there is absolutely unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of your mind
because I am out of your sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near just around the corner...
All is well. Nothing is past, nothing is lost.

One brief moment and all will be as it was before,
only better, infinitely happier
and forever we will be one together.

RIP my god welcome you to his KINGDOM Tony GWYNN.

Tony you were as great a person as you were a great ballplayer. Your lasting legacy of being a true professional will never be forgotten.

I was a young kid when I met "T". He was the older kid in the neighborhood, who'd pitch sock balls to the young kids. "Sockballs" a small ball created from cut up socks, wrapped with rubber bands. Inexpensive, and difficult to hit. A game that played an important role in the hitting talents of the Gwynn
brothers and others in the neighborhood.

An inspiration and mentor to many from the west side of Long Beach. He and his wife opened their doors to my brother and me as young minor leaguers, and allowed us to work out with him during the off season. This exemplifies the person he was. He was a great baseball player, and true friend who'd give you the shirt off his back. A true "class act", with a great family. I strive to be half the man he was.

He will be truly missed. God bless the family, and may he rest in peace.

Tony, you will be missed , but never forgotten. You were as good a person as you were a baseball player. So long, but never goodbye.

You were so gracious to talk to our 10 year old all star boys while in Fresno a year ago. You will live on in those boys memories forever!
