I still Miss You Kid.
February 14, 2013
Nino is my 1st Grandson. I remember when I was called 5 Am Xmas morning to come up to Trenton, his mother, my daughter, was in labor. She had a difficult pregnancy but she was going to have Xmas dinner at her house. She had done all the preliminary work for the dinner and wanted me to come up and help with Tina and Teresa and to finish the dinner prep. Her sister, Chris was called after me to help. Michele did not want the dinner cancelled. Nino was born a healthy beautiful baby the following day. He was a lovable child. He had many people praying for him to survive and be cured. He fought a valiant battle and escaped death more than one time. We all miss him and are trying to cope with his passing and often find ourselves asking, why did he have to suffer so much? I know he is out of pain now and at peace but why did he have to go so young? All his dreams and aspirations will never be realized. But he has touched many hearts, more than most people ever do. He loved his family and friends. I was just remembering his 23rd birthday party and everyone standing and sitting in the kitchen listening to the many talented voices in our family singing together and alone. Nino was so happy that night. May you rest in peace, you are forever in our hearts.

I also am overwhelmed, and would like to express my gratitude to all those that attended the viewing in Hamilton, as well as the viewing and church service in Delran to honor my beautiful son's name.

I am in reciept of a letter from The Gift of Life thanking everyone for all of the donations made in Nino's memory. I will send a note to each and every one of you personally. I cannot thatnk you enough for those gifts. Right now 6,500 people are waiting of life saving transplants in our region, please also sign your donor card, in Nino's memory.

I want to extend a deep gratitude to those that came to visit my dear son, Nino, in our home in Moorestown. These visits made him very happy, and let him know just how much he was loved, thank you so very much for that.

Nino was a loving and beautiful baby, he was a bright and happy child and grew into a brilliant, strong and loving young man, and I loved him with all my heart. Just the thought of his smile brings such joy to my heart.

My son's sruggles, as many of you well now, were beyond comprehension. The disease that attacked him was rare and incurable. He fought a valiant battle, but sadly lost the war to this horrific disease.

As his father has said, Nino could light up any room with his smile and warm any heart with look. He was gifted, truly gifted. He was also brilliant, and could temper most situations with his humor. Nino was an exceptional athelete, playing football, soccer, baseball and he was an advanced scuba diver.

When he came home he would say, (in his best Cuban accent) "Lucy, I'm home. " What kid his age even knew who Lucy was?

He loved family, all of his family, every single one of us. He deeply disliked when anyone in the family fought, it disturded him, he loved us all.

The Lord must have needed him for something very important, Nino had the capacity for greatness, little did we know the gifts he possessed were not for this world.

I will end this letter with sadness and gratitude, and the way I began every days's converstation with my son since he was born,
my son, my son, my only son, I love you,

I am overwelmed by the great amount of people, that paid their respect for my beloved son Nino,in person at the funeral home and at the Church service, also through electronic media and social sites. Rosalie (his step Mom)and I, raised him all his very short life and tried like any parent` to teach him to be a good person. After hearing and reading all of the comments from friends, family and acquantances,it became obvious that Nino has touched many people in very positive ways. Nino at 21 was diagnosed with a rare "virus" and he required a heart transplant, which he received shortly after, but unfortunately the "virus" was too strong even for the donated heart.
I want to thank all of you for your kindness to me at this very hard time, but especially for the way those of you that knew Nino have made (with your comments)me, come to know my own son even more. I have always been proud of Nino, for his abilities, talents, great sense of humor and his ability to make people smile even when they were sad. But to hear other people say it really fills my heart with a joy that sometimes overcomes my heavy sadness.
Thank you all sincerily,
Marty Ciccia
PS. If you don't already donate, please think about it, save a life.

Dear Malnat (Marty) and family,

Please accept our condolences. We did not know your son but to lose a child is the worst. God just wanted him sooner and he is at peace.

You and your family are in our prayers.
