Carl Joseph Halcak LAWRENCEVILLE - Carl Joseph Halcak, 74, of Lawrenceville, NJ, passed away peacefully at his son's home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012. Carl was born in Atlantic City, NJ, and resided most of his life in the Trenton area. He was employed with General Motors early in life and then joined the New Jersey State Police where he served until his retirement. After retirement, Carl was a real estate investor and worked with his son as a builder. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and a vintage car enthusiast. Predeceased by his grandparents, Karl and Anna Halcak, and his mother, Margaret Halcak, he is survived by his children, Carolyn Valenza (Russell), Robert Halcak (Linda), and Richard Halcak (Sharon); his granddaughter, Jessica Valenza; his sister, Delores Duffy; his nephew, Alan Crocket; his longtime companion, Rose Engler, as well as several cousins. Funeral services will begin on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Interment to follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at the Saul Colonial Home.
