Dr. Georgianna Moore played an integral part in my faith development. In fact, after some 40 plus years I still find myself singing the songs that she taught us in Youth Choir. Dr. Moore was a life-long learner and she had a commitment to excellence. She excelled and she pushed others to do the same. Dr. Moore had a passion for kids and it showed. She exuded enthusiasm, determination, and a can-do spirit. The hymnist tells us that, "There is a balm in Gilead to heal a sin-sick soul. There is a balm in Gilead to make the wounded whole...There is a balm in Gilead..." I choose to believe the hymnist. Dr. Moore has made the transition from life to eternal life...and for that we celebrate her life...a life of service. Because Georgianna knew how to serve, many of her youth realized their dreams of becoming pastors, teachers, lawyers, doctors, social workers, and the like. Because Georgianna knew how to serve, people who came into contact with her were inspired and renewed. Because Georgianna knew how to serve, we can say thank you for making a difference in our lives. Because Georgianna knew how to serve, the angels in heaven are dancing in jubilation as we celebrate her life and what a life it was. I know my twin brother, Ron will be glad to see you in the Heavenly choir. Georgianna, be clothed in Christ's glory and may your soul rest contently today and always in the presence of Almighty God.
