cont. Thanks to you and your family for being a model of how to worship and walk with God! I know you are singing the Hallelujah chorus acapella style!

To the family of Mrs./Dr. Georgianna Moore, I was deeply saddened to learn of her passing, and that I was unable to attend her homegoing service. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to hug her and give my warmests regards at Ms. Molly's 75th birthday party! I will forever cherish the memories of Saturday rehearsals with the Jr. Church choir. Rain, snow, sleet or hail, we got there!

"Bless ye the Lord, all ye His hosts; ye ministers of His, that do His pleasure."--Psalm 103:21

What a delightful minister the Lord created in Dr. Georgianna Williams Moore! She took the Great Commission seriously, reaching out with devotion and creativity to win souls for Christ—but did not stop there.

Through the Junior Church, Georgianna—along with Mrs. Thelma Carter, Calvinita, Thelma, Molly, and Mrs. Welch—“trained up many children in the way they should go.” She modeled exuberant praise and effective Christian stewardship, demonstrating how to give back to God what He gives to us. Georgianna nurtured the spiritual gifts and aptitudes of others and, beyond the sanctuary, increased her territory through educational and career advancement-—with the aims of helping and healing. As a mother, Georgianna further blessed Junior Church participants by bringing her own talented and fun-loving children, who enlivened our fellowship.

Georgianna allowed God to use her for His service and, along the way, emboldened individuals who ventured out to influence congregations, communities, families, and generations. Her life exemplifies the understanding that ministry does not emanate from the pulpit alone.

With love and gratitude to God and for the Williams-Moore-Carter family,

Dr. Georgianna Moore played an integral part in my faith development. In fact, after some 40 plus years I still find myself singing the songs that she taught us in Youth Choir. Dr. Moore was a life-long learner and she had a commitment to excellence. She excelled and she pushed others to do the same. Dr. Moore had a passion for kids and it showed. She exuded enthusiasm, determination, and a can-do spirit. The hymnist tells us that, "There is a balm in Gilead to heal a sin-sick soul. There is a balm in Gilead to make the wounded whole...There is a balm in Gilead..." I choose to believe the hymnist. Dr. Moore has made the transition from life to eternal life...and for that we celebrate her life...a life of service. Because Georgianna knew how to serve, many of her youth realized their dreams of becoming pastors, teachers, lawyers, doctors, social workers, and the like. Because Georgianna knew how to serve, people who came into contact with her were inspired and renewed. Because Georgianna knew how to serve, we can say thank you for making a difference in our lives. Because Georgianna knew how to serve, the angels in heaven are dancing in jubilation as we celebrate her life and what a life it was. I know my twin brother, Ron will be glad to see you in the Heavenly choir. Georgianna, be clothed in Christ's glory and may your soul rest contently today and always in the presence of Almighty God.

My prayers are with the family of Dr. Moore during this time of sorrow. May you find comfort in knowing that she is now with our Heavenly Father.
