Henri Zawodniak EWING Henri Zawodniak, 84, of Ewing, passed away on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at Captial Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton. Son of the late Kazimierz A. and Stanislawa Wrotny Zawodniak, Henri is survived by his wife, Pelagie "Peggy" Zawodniak of Ewing; two brothers, Richard and wife Mary Zawodniak of Hamilton and John Zawodniak of the Poconos; niece, Anna and husband Carlos Chamorro of Collegeville, PA; godson and nephew, Henry and wife Beth Zawodniak of Holland PA; and five grand-nephews, Andrew, Max, Patrick, Alex, and Ewan. Born in Chalons-sur-Marne, France, Henri came to the U.S. in 1958 and was a Trenton and Ewing resident ever since. He retired in 1996 after 13 years of service with the Ewing Township Board of Education, assigned to Laurel Anthile, and retired from Ewing High School. He was previously employed for 17 years with De Laval Steam Turbine Manufacturer. Henri loved freshwater fishing, camping, tending his home garden, and traveling to different domestic and international destinations. He enjoyed following the stock markets and the economy. He was a church usher at St. Hedwig's at the Sunday 9:30 a.m. Mass. He lived for his family and lived a life of great faith and hope, always going out of his way to help others. Specifically, he was dedicated to his God! The funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m., at the Winowicz Funeral Chapel, 865 Brunswick Ave., Trenton. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Hedwig's Church, with Rev. Dr. Fr. Jacek W. Labinski presiding. Burial will be in St. Hedwig's Cemetery in Ewing Township. Calling hours will be held on Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. (time of service) at the funeral chapel. Everyone will miss dear Henry, the most positive person I ever met. Henry had a special way of making whoever he was talking to feel important, successful, and well, just better! "That's fantastic!" is what I remember Henry most often saying.
