Hi McBride Family I just heard about Joe I was so sorry to find out about his death. I knew Joe from child Guidance around 1983 and yes I agree he definitely touch my heart and soul My dad died and I did know what to do but Joe help me come out of that dark place I was in. also on a little funny note He said when he taught at Rutgers University He would use me as an example because I was a long time client with Child Guidance but if it was not for Joe I would not be here now so I will miss him so much and I know all of you will miss him more take care and I will pray for all of you every day.

Joe ... I had to come to your guest book. You have been on my mind a lot lately. I really miss our talks and our friendship. You knew David so well ... You will never be forgotten. Steve and I talk about you all the time. I know that you have met David and I am sure that the two of you are all about the sports ... Miss You Joe So Much ...

Joe came into my family's life professionally in 1985, referred by Dr. Robert Kaye. His kindness and wisdom helped us during a difficult time. I just recently heard of his passing and was shocked. I sincerely hope his family is well and have been able to find comfort. He was a remarkable therapist. I can only assume he was a remarkable husband, father and human being. Joe will be missed!

Somehow, we have just heard about Joe’s death. We met Joe when our daughter was diagnosed as a Type I diabetic at CHOP, at the age of 13 months, 35 years ago. Lester Baker (our endocrinologist) introduced us, and Joe became an intricate part of our family and our ability to cope with the horrible insult to our daughter, her health and our family. For much of her youth we saw Joe periodically to discuss how to cope and how to deal with each other civilly while burning up inside at what she had to endure. He became so much more than a professional part of our lives; he was truly part of out extended family that was required to properly raise a child with a chronic disease. He understood it all, from the family point of view, the view of the individual with the diabetes, the sibling point of view and the just plain human interaction and reaction. While we haven’t seen him often he has continued to be part of the family, with our daughter seeing him periodically at Dan Bern concerts. The community of those afflicted with diabetes, as well as other chronic diseases, has lost a true friend, compatriot, adviser and really good person. Our belated sympathies to his family.
