My sorrow and sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Roland. Roland and I went to Stuyvesant High School together, Class of '78. He was the nicest and gentlest person.

Respectfully Submitted,
Dave Webb
Cornell University, Class of '82.

I just learned of Roland's transition. I'm so sorry to be so late in offering condolences to the family. Roland was my classmate at Brown Unversity and his mom, Annis and my mom, Julia McLeveighn were colleagues teaching at Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, NY. I offer my sincere condolences and ask God's comfort to all Roland's loved ones.

I am so very sad to learn of Roland's passing. A few years ago, I met him through Brown interviewing. He was a joyous, friendly, generous man. My sincere condolences to his family.

Though I did not know Roland for a long time, I could not find a more kind, generous, warm person. Always willing to listen, always with a smile. I will truly miss his spirit.

Words seem so inadequate to express the sadness I feel upon the news of Roland's passing. My condolences and deepest sympathy go out to the family for a man who embodied inspiration, fostered relationships and was so kind to so many people. I ran into him in downtown Manhattan right before relocating and we shared many Brown moments- at the end of our conversation, he was full of encouragement, wit, and most of all the future and what it held for both of us! I hope the peace that comes from the memories of love shared comfort the family now and in the future. Roland's spirit remains in my heart.
