We are truly sorry to learn of Barry's passing. I had the good fortune to know and work with Barry for nearly twenty years. He was a dedicated family man, committed to his community and truly one of the most compassionate individuals who I have had the pleasure to know. He touched so many lives across the country and his work in affordable housing made a difference to thousands of families. We will miss him. Our condolences to the Black family.

I am sorry for your loss. I got to know your father through my job with Enable and I'm sure he told you the story but after months of having each other's name ring a bell, he asked by chance if I was the same Jay Johnston who worked for the State to which I replied “I am his son and since you're asking, do you happen to be the father of Yvette and Barry?” He told me that he and my father grew up in the same neighborhood as kids and our mother's worked together in Hamilton's Board of Education. He also shared with me that how he hardly saw them and when he and your mother (along with Barry and his wife) were in Florida at Epcot, they sat down at the Japanese restaurant and there were my parents two tables over.
We corresponded monthly and my parents spoke very highly of your father.
Maria and I pass along our condolences and will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Barry and I worked closely together at NHS close to 30 years ago...for several years..we shared a cubicle and talked about everything from family to music..even bee pollen..ha!
He helped me out in so many ways, and was soo proud of his wife and children..and later, of coarse, grandchildren..
We laughed a lot together, and never shared a bad moment! He was one of the best I've ever known!
Though somewhat out of touch in recent years, I know his basic nature to help others never changed..
Barry, your great heart gives you a very special place in Heaven..
You will be missed..my friend
Toni, So sorry for your loss.
Yvette & Family,
I am very sorry for your loss. My prayers are with all of you.
