My mom was so blessed to get back in touch with Lewis last year. Mom, Rosie and Lewis were best friends many years ago. I'm sorry we did not know about his passing sooner or we would have sent a message. He was a great friend.
I would like to apologize to Lew's family for not contacting them sooner, but I was in the hospital when Lew passed and just found out about his death. My Aunt Chris is Rose's roommate in Arcadia and our family has gotten to know Lew pretty well over the past few years. He was such a nice person and was so kind to my Aunt and our family. He would help her when we couldn't be there and would keep us updated on her status when we visited. Whenever he brought a special treat for Rose, he would also bring something for my Aunt and even gave her a stuffed animal on Valentine's Day. We all could attest to his devotion to his Rosie; even when things got difficult, he was there for her every day. We all always enjoyed Lew's company; good conversation with him made difficult visits a little easier. He is very much missed.
A true gentleman with a kind heart and pleasant smile will be missed at Arcadia. Especially this receptionist. May you rest in peace now.
I remember the Shinkles from childhood. We grew up in good times. We were the Sullivans and Ella was my friend. Sorry to read the obits. I am in California. I'm the last of Sullivans.
I will always remember you always made us laugh! I will always remember the fun times you showed us when we were kids!
Uncle Lewis was one of my favorite uncles....fun loving and always played games with us kids at all family outings...you will be missed. My heart goes out to Aunt Rosie...remember the good times!
Mrs. Shinkle and Lew, Mr. Shinkle was a great guy. I'll always remember him fondly as part of my teen years with Lew and our buddies. My deepest sympathies.
To Aunt Rosie and Louie, you have my sincere sympathies on your loss. I remember Uncle Louie as a fun loving and caring person, always spending time with family and friends. May God bless his soul.
Many fond memories of picnicing at Washington Crossing Park with our Uncle Louie.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the Shinkle Family.
