Evangelist Osceola Thomas Sr. TRENTON - Evangelist Osceola Thomas Sr. age 68 passed away March 17, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Hamilton, NJ. Born in Dillon, SC. and lived in the Trenton-Burlington area for 40 years. He was a graduate of Gordon High School in Dillon, SC., International Seminary in Ewing, NJ, and attended Mercer County Community College-West Windsor Campus. He was employed by Goodall Rubber and retired from Princeton University. He was an U.S. Army veteran serving from 1973-1976. Evangelist Thomas preached at many area churches including First Haitian Church of God and was an active member of Family Church of God of Philadelphia, PA. Son of the late Elder Solomon Thomas and Cora Thomasena Carmichael Thomas, and brother of the late Peggie Thomas. He is survived by his wife Catherine Leary Thomas, two sons Osceola Thomas Jr. (Kimberly), and Darrell Thomas (Shaymia), daughter Charmaine Slayton, two sisters Patricia Alford (David), and Georgia Denise Carmichael, brother Henry Carmichael (Sonya), a host of other relatives and friends. There will be a Celebration of Life Service 7pm-9pmThurs March 20, 2014 at New Bethel Holy Church Inc. 25 weber Ave Ewing, NJ. Funeral service will be 12pm Fri March 21, 2014 at New Bethel Holy Church Inc. Calling hour will be 11am until time of service at the church. Interment Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Vet. Mem. Cem. Arneytown, NJ. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
