I am a boyhood friend of John, we shared many adventures and good times in Takoma Park, Maryland. We lost touch after he returned from Korea. My daughter was helping me search the internet in hopes of reaching out. We were saddened to come across this obit instead. This was a lovely obituary and I am not at all surprised to hear of his many accomplishments and enormous outpouring of respect and admiration from friends and folks who worked with him. I extend my heartfelt condolences (belatedly) to his children. I will always remember John with great fondness.

As his last surviving brother-in-law, and having known him all my life, John was always a person headed for certain success - no matter what his career.
Two years older than me, he was always taller, stronger and smarter than than I ever was. Lucky for me, we never had a fight or serious argument. Sure, I was a little jealous in the early years, but that was soon replaced by respect and admiration. John was directly responsible for leading me into a career with the IBM Corp. where I remained for 31 years, until retirement. In 1982, when my heart started failing, John knew what surgeons and hospitals to send me to-up and down the east coast. He must have made pretty good decisions since I'm still here - 34 years later! I'm mighty glad my brother-in-law was such a great guy!

To all members of JR's family,

Wow, what a loving obituary. Thank you for reminding us of what this man was all about.
My family lived next door or should I say, across the driveway from the Robinson's. It was a pleasure knowing the family all those years. I could always tell what time JR got home by the roar of his car. However, I understood his dedication because my late father was also married to his work.
I worked at NHPH and can still hear JR coming up the back hall of 6 East whistling away. Everyone is right, if you didn't get to know JR, then you really missed out on all he had to offer you.
He joined our family for a few social gatherings and that is when you saw the "other" gentler side of JR.
And let me say, my mother and I had an opportunity to ride with JR in his station wagon. One hell of a ride!!
My sisters and I were very thankful when he came to the cemetery to pay his respects for our dad.

You have my deepest sympathy. May the Lord envelope JR in his loving arms now and forever. Amen.
Sincerely, Susan Weigel Feierabend
