Don was a great friend and mentor of Ham Radio. Just learning of his passing, I recall all the great chats and some "rebel rousing" we caused the Irwin community! Rest in Peace, Don. I am proud to have known you.

My condolences to his family, friends and all who knew "SuperHam Don"

My condolences to Don's family and close friends. My memories are from childhood and hearing of the ham radio antics of K3CHD in Irwin. My Father, Len WA3GKL/sk, was a fellow member of several clubs with Don. I know he had quite the reputation - a good one. I'd hoped someday to contact Don, but looks now like it will need to be in-person when we are all with The Lord. 73's W8DUQ

My sincere sympathy to Don's family. I was a college student working a summer job at US Steel Irvin Works in the late 70's and Don was my supervisor. He was a terrific man and a great boss. I recall him speaking fondly of his family.
