Betty Lillian Bauer McAfee, 92, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at the Walnut Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dayton, Ohio. She donated her remains to the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University. Her daughter, Patricia Joan, and son, John Mark, preceded her in death. Betty was born May 12, 1924, in Pittsburgh, and lived much of her life in Greensburg. She enjoyed her work at Seton Hill University, and after her retirement, she resided in Dayton with her daughter's family. Betty is survived by her children, David (Ellen) Cutter, Virginia (Dwight) Jeffrey, Elizabeth Sue (Herbert) Martin and Julia McAfee, along with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Betty will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 246 S. Main St., Greensburg, PA 15601.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to your local library or to HCMT, the Homeless Cat Management Team, PO Box 100203, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
