Florence E. Denicola, 91, a recent resident of The Oaks in White Oak and a prior resident of West Mifflin and Liberty Boro, died June 28, 2017, at the LGAR Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Jan. 30, 1926, in Duquesne, she was the daughter of Gabriel and Magdeline (Dravick) Pichora and wife of the late Pasquale Denicola. She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Bradley (Tom), of North Huntingdon; sons, Robert (Stephanie), also of North Huntingdon, Leonard (Wendy) of Manassas, Va., Lawrence (Lynne), of Montgomery Village, Md.; grandchildren, Scott, Sara Thorton (David), Timothy (Marla), Beth Ledbetter (Paul), Joseph and Brenna; beloved great-grandson Konnor; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Mikos, Veronica Sowa, Sophie Martin, Vada Hubler and Agnes Carr; and brothers, Michael Pichura, Bruno Pichora and Andrew Pichora. She was also preceded in death by her companion, Bernie Mackowiak. Florence was a member of the Polish singing group Karazuelas, and an avid polka and line dancer.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at JAYCOX-JAWORSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY. A blessing by Fr. Kevin Dominik will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 3, in the funeral home chapel. The immediate family will gather for interment at St. Hedwig Cemetery in West Mifflin at a later date.
Flo was active in community volunteer organizations in prior years and, when the need arose, was fortunate to be cared for lovingly at LGAR. Any donations in memory of Flo will be directed to the activity fund at LGAR.
