I worked with Marion at Royston and we had loads of fun. I remember when he got really mad at me when I convinced some of our co-workers that Marion had a low yield nuclear device in his garage. Those were the days!

Uncle Marion is the twin brother of William Wakal who preceded him eternal into rest by a few months. I am sure that they are both together along with my parents, grandparents and their siblings surrounded by love, laughter and great food which my father Joseph and his brother Marion have prepared. Like his brother Joseph, Uncle Mario was a fine cook and in my opinion a Renaissance man. He spent his youth on a farm in Indiana before moving to Brooklyn upon the death of his mother. In addition to earning a degree from Farmingdale College and engaging in a career as a mechanical engineer, he was a patriot who served during the Korean War. He always maintained his agricultural roots by maintaining a magnificent garden fully stocked with fruits and vegetables He was part of the farm to table movement before the movement existed. He was part of the Greatest Generation and the world will miss the likes of him.

I am so sorry to hear of Marion's passing. Jesus wept after the death of his friend Lazarus. John 11:35. We mourn along with you. May the God who binds up the brokenhearted and comforts all who mourn sustain and surround you, until you meet again, Psalm 147:3.
