Peter "Pecky" Paradise, 96, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at home. He was born June 27, 1920, in McKeesport, son of the late Joseph and Mary Short Paradise. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Force. Prior to his retirement in 1982, Peter was employed by National Tubes Works in McKeesport as a pipe cutter. Always a hard worker, he often worked a second job to support his family. He worked as a house painter after returning home from the service in 1945. He drove a cab for nine years starting after the blizzard of 1950 and was a bartender at East End Grill for 11 years. In his younger days, he enjoyed bowling, playing fast pitch softball, golf and pool. He was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan and loved watching all sports on television, especially golf. He enjoyed spending time with his family and vacationing with his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Anna Charok; his daughter, Anita Doyle; two brothers, John and Steven Paradise; and sisters, Madeline Chakota, Regina Paradise and Florence Removcik. He is survived by his son, Daniel and his wife, Melanie; daughter, Nadine Campbell and her husband, Dean; son-in-law, Wayne Doyle; granddaughters, Heather Doyle and Carrie Yanez and her husband, Samuel; four great-grandchildren, Sean, Aidan, Rhiannon and Katie; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the JAMES W. SHIRLEY FUNERAL HOME, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Interment in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.

Condolences to Nadine and her family from the Class of 68.
My personal sympathy is extended having remembered Mr. Paradise from growing up in 10th Ward.He was a good man who raised a wonderful family.
