Christopher "Chris" Rosa, 69, of, Sun City, Hilton Head, S.C., died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 at his home. He was born Jan. 28, 1947, in Latrobe, the son of the late Rudolph J. Rosa and Anne L. DeFlavio Rosa. After graduating from Latrobe High School in 1965, Chris worked at Vanadium Alloy Steel before enlisting in the Navy as a corpsman. He was assigned to the Marine Corps in the Vietnam War, during which he received several commendations. Throughout his life, he owned and operated several pizza businesses. He was an avid football fan, had a passion for cars and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. Among his other joys were making pizza for family and friends, shopping and staying on top of the latest electronic tech devices. He most enjoyed motorhoming throughout the U.S. with his partner, Glenda, and their cats. Chris was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bluffton, S.C., and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Derry, where he participated in volunteer activities such as helping to organize church luncheons and assisting church members to their doctor appointments. Chris is survived by his partner of 22 years, Glenda (Maury) Mascia; sons, Christopher Jr., and granddaughter, Mikaela; Robert, and wife, Kathy, and grandsons, Rudy and Kai; daughters, Lynella Rosa Saenz, and husband, Mario, and grandchildren Abbigale and Nathaniel, all of Yucaipa, Calif; and Taylor Rosa, of Durham, N.C. He is also survived by siblings, Rudolph Jr., and wife, Stacey, Marilyn Struble (Jim Brewer), and Nicholas (Michelle Hall), all from Latrobe; Glenda's sons, Keith, Kevin and Kent; and his many neighbors and friends, along with his beloved furry felines, Foxy and Lilly.
A memorial service will be conducted in May at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Derry. The date will be announced at a later time.

To the family of Chris Rosa. Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of Chris. I have known Chris for a long, long time. We went to grade school together at Holy Family in Latrobe. I was crazy about him in the 4th grade, or as crazy you can be about someone at the age of 10. I met up with him later on at his sister Marilyn's house for a Halloween party. It was so good to see him again after so many years. He was a great guy and will be missed. Joanne Murphy Gaul
