They threw away the mold when Ken Venturi was made. He was so damn cool...may he rest in peace.

Watched many a golf game with my dad on Sunday afternoons listening to Ken's commentary. I serve as the pastor of a Presbyterian Church just over the fence of the 16th hole at Congressional. I'll give that hole a wave tomorrow in honor of Ken and honor of my dad. Truly, every preacher would rather be golfing on a Sunday morning.

To the Venturi family,
Ken Venturi was a true gentleman and a great American. Heaven will witness a great golf outing tomorrow-Ben, Byron, & Ken together again!
God Bless Ken and your family.

How many weekends I spent listening to your wonderful commentary on CBS. First with Pat Summerall and later with Jim Nance. I have a huge lump in my throat as I write this. I have missed you since you retired from CBS. Rest in peace Ken. You were the consummate gentleman and the best golf commentator I have had the privilege to listen to.

Tim, We were all very blessed to have your father as an inspiration and an example of hard work, values and character.
Best to you and Gianna.

Kathleen and family,
we are so sorry for you loss. Ken has been in our prayers since learning of his illness. He looked so good in Feburary when we saw you both last.We have admired him for years in the game we both love, May God give you the strength and courage during this sad time, and grant Ken the love and eternal peace he so well deserves as our continued prayers go with you and with him.

What an inspiration Mr. Venturi was to the entire golf world. His strength of character and perseverance were unmatched. May his family take comfort in the fact that he was loved and admired by thousands and thousands of golf fans worldwide.

Mr. Venturi passed last night, his was the first golf book I ever read cover to cover about golf. What a great Ambassador of Golf. I sat by him on a plane from the 95 Ryder Cup to Tampa from Rochester and I found him very down to earth and pleasant. I was so nervous but I did thank him, I am sure he would have rather been entrenched in his magazine but he was very affable and Gracious. What a Champion.
