Lawrence (Larry) P. Hunter Lawrence (Larry) P Hunter, loving husband of Nancy June Hunter, went to be with the Lord January 30, 2014 after a long battle with emphysema and lung cancer. Larry was born May 6, 1942 in Tacoma, WA to John and Tillie Hunter; he grew up in Manitou and attended Visitation, Gray Junior High School, and Lincoln High School. He later joined the United States Marine Corps in 1960, and served in Vietnam and Cuba before receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1966. He married Nancy on September 17, 1965 and lived in Tacoma, WA, where they raised seven children. He worked as a construction worker, painter, and insurance agent. He lived in California for a brief time with his wife Nancy and then moved back to Washington, where he enjoyed his retirement traveling, working on home improvement projects, spending time with family, and raising cattle at his property in Roy, WA. He is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter Julie, stepchildren Daniel (Nicky), Krishna/Debra, Rory, John (Laura), and Carla (Curt), daughter-in-law Christine, son-in-law Michael, sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, his two sisters, LaDonna and Marcie, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his dad and mom, brothers William and John, sister Loretta, stepson Brad, and granddaughter Jennifer. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Family and friends may visit New Tacoma Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 7, from 3 to 7 pm for viewing, and may attend a service at Chambers Creek Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 11am, with a potluck gathering to follow. To my dearest Uncle Larry, you taught me things that no other could. You were loving kind and caring under that Tough Crusty exterior that you portrayed. I have incorporated a little bit of you into my children and you will live on in memory for all time. I will miss you and I always loved you.
