Helen R. Gagnon Cohoes – Helen R. Gagnon, 97, formerly of Cohoes died at Diamond Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 after a long illness. She was born in Troy, educated in St. Jean's School and Catholic Central High School, Troy. She was the daughter of the late John and Rose Messick Vallee. She retired from NYS Department of Transportation. She enjoyed bowling, playing golf and crafts; mostly she enjoyed traveling with her husband when they retired. Wife of the late Arthur Gagnon. Mother of Janice Bagley of Cohoes and the late Frances Collette. Grandmother of David, Donald, Jr. and Richard Bagley, Joyce Collette, Linda Townsend and Karen Frazier, also survived by 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 4 brothers and I sister, also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Friday 11:00am at Holy Trinity Parish, Cohoes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:30am.
