Miss you Kevin! Antje and I were devastated when we learned of your "higher calling" ,as I know you would have been for her if you were still earth bound when she passed "too early" also. You were both part of the "old school" who were such superb nurses, and superb people who cared deeply about their patients, family, and friends

Dear Gaub Family,
Having just read through the condolence messages, it is obvious that everyone recognized your Kevin as the kind, wonderful, care giver I knew for many years. He and I worked together in pediatrics initially where he took great care of our patients, always with kindness and skill. Later, I would see him in the ER. Last year, when I became a patient in need of a picc line myself, I was relieved to see him stroll calmly through the door and quietly pop the line in place.
He was a truly remarkable man and will be greatly missed by all of us left behind.
I had to miss his service but think of my old friend often.

I first met Kevin in art class in 7th grade, over the next 8 years the experiences we shared as we grew up were so tight and bonding that I have always regarded him as a brother. I remember the fun of watching him on stage, singing in The Fantastics at Rincon and performing in several UofA productions. The service for Kevin was very touching and it was good to see he was as enthusiastic, fun and boyish in his life as the kid I knew and loved.

Kevin was one of my dearest friends from the time we were both about 13 to 20, and althougn we hadn't spoken in over 30 years, I have thought of him often. He was the first of my friends to acquire a car, and we all depended on him. The first time I went on a date with my future wife Heidi, he obligingly got a date too, because A) I didn't have a vehicle, and B) I didn't have a license either! I'll always remember the blue Mustang, the ever-present white painter's cap, and his distinctive personality. He could be very funny and always appreciated my sense of humor, too. My deepest condolences to his wife and boys.

To the Gaub family:
I had the real honor and pleasure of working with Kevin at TMC. Though we spoke mainly of patients we shared, there were some occasions where he mentioned a little something here and there that was personal - and it always involved expressing love and pride for his kids. I found Kevin to be a real gentleman and a strong, reassuring presence. I just wanted to give back something to say how clearly, and dearly, he loved his work but especially how he loved his family. I will miss him and think of his quiet strength and his comforting demeanor. I hope this can bring a bit of comfort to you, too.

CHANCES A POEM FOR ADAM, CALEB, & NOAH,

I didn't get to see you before I left,
I didn't get to say my good bye's,
I didn't get to hug and kiss you good night,
I didn't get to tell you how much I was proud to have you as my sons,
I didn't get the chance to tell you I was sorry for being stupid sometimes,
I didn't get to dance with all of you at your wedding,
and I wont get a chance to see all of my grandchildren,
I wont get the chance to say I love you one more time.
I wish I could have those chances,
but I am glad to have had the chance of having sons like you.
Thank you Sons!
