Death leaves such hollowness in our heart and regrets of what we didn't do or say to our loved one lost. Pray for a calm heart and our God will comfort you moment by moment. Draw close to God and he will draw close to you. - James 4:8, 14.
My condolences to Carol and Rich's family. He was a fine man and a great firefighter. I first met Rich during my recruit training at the Fremont FD and had the opportunity to work with him on many occasions. On my first wildland fire I watched Captain Morgan defuse a hostile rancher while we were waiting for an air drop and from that day on, had so much respect for him. Later in his career I had the pleasure of working on staff with Rich when he was working in the Fire Prevention Bureau. His work ethic and skills were incredible. I sure missed him when he retired and am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to server with him. You were an inspiration. God bless you Rich and thank you for all you've done in your career.
