I'll always remeber what a great "Visitor" Dr. Oyama was, we would talk and talk and never had a pause, God Bless you Dr. Oyama

I will remember Hank as a decent man who worked hard for what he believed. He never hesitated to support others who demonstrated leadership abilities and commitment to the good of the community. Thank you, Hank for all you did and my sincerest condolences to your loved ones.

To know Hank was to love him. We were so lucky to be able to spend quality time with him. He was a gift to Tucson and the nation. When the Ann Frank exhibit from Holland came to the Jewish Community Center in Tucson, I (Billie) was a volunteer docent and very proudly pointed to the picture on the wall of Hank and Mary Ann's ground breaking marriage; we included a local timeline in our exhibit of discrimination. One of the most astonishing characteristics about Hank was that he had no bitterness toward anybody, even those who discriminated against him and caused him hardshp. You will be sorely missed, Dr Oyama.

My deepest sympathy to the family. I have only fond memories of my friend Hank and will miss him and his wisdom.

To all of Hank's family: He made a difference in my life at various points throughout the 40+ years I knew him. He inspired me, taught me, assisted me, supported and worked with me in so many ways in our community. He was such a role model to my students and me of graciousness, of honor, of forgiveness, patriotism, and brilliance, all leavened with humor. TUSD awarded him its highest honor in naming a school for him. May his work never be forgotten. I will miss him.

Ann, family, and friends...my most sincere condolences. May you find comfort in the arms of the Maker. Peace to all.

It was a privilege knowing Hank. I first knew him as a student at the UA. Later running into him in community affairs. He was truly involved with the community. He was a "doer" not just a "talker." The world is a better place because of you. May God welcome you and rest in peace.

Dear Oyama Family,
Reading Mr. Oyama's obituary - he certainly lived a full life. I was fortunate to meet him a few times since last Fall at Mass or a Holy communion visit. My condolences to his family.
