Dear Richie Family,
I have been going to Romolo's for many years. I was so excited to see it stay "the same" when Fred Richie bought it. Right after he bought it, we stopped by for family pizza & wings night. He came over to our table and introduced himself as the new owner. After that, we became friends on a first name basis..seeing how my name is Fred too!! He would always come over to our table and visit. My boy Luc always said, "that man is very nice to us!!" It was always a pleasure to visit with him, and let him show me the latest improvements he did to the restaurant. he was so proud to be the owner of his own Italian restaurant!! It truly was an honor to know the man. I just found out of his passing last night when I went in for take out burgers, and saw his funeral notice by the door. I was so taken back....he became a neighborhood icon. he will be missed. our thoughts and prayers to your family at this time of loss.
Sincerely,
Fred, laurel, Abby & Luc LeBlanc
St Paul-eastside.

Steve,
Sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I just got back from a vacation in Mexico and have been out of touch. I still use some of your dad's wise cracks to this day. I know he showed you how to work and persevere, what better legacy is there?
