Thinking of dear friends from St. Anthony Park as I am living overseas, something led me tonight to look online for Amy King's name. She was always a good friend of my godmother, Marjorie Hess. Come to find she has just passed away, after a full and well-lived life. My condolences to her family and many cherished friends. Please know that there are many like me who remember her fondly and are happy to have known her. I am sorry I could not be with you yesterday to remember her.
RIP Amy King (100+ yrs old)...thank you for teaching me my very first card game-Kings corner, introducing me to soap operas-specifically As the World Turns, teaching me how to bake super thin sugar cookies, letting me play with you dog-Andy, bringing me to Bridge games (although I'll never understand that game), letting me explore your house as I grew up, telling me stories of how you milked cows...and most importantly, thank you for taking me on as another granddaughter to raise when you were nearly 70 years old and had no plans to raise babies. You allowed me to have two working parents to look up to while having a second place to call home from 6mo-12 years old (and beyond). As my old friend, Mayda Miller closed her "remembrance"...
Always, "Your Little Molly"
Im sorry I won't make it on Friday; however, my thoughts will be with you and your family.
One of the several memories I have of Amy is when she shared with me the love her and her husband shared! She said their entire marriage they were In Love. It was beautiful! Peace and Joy Amy!
