My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I am so sorry for your loss.
Mary, I have lots of wonderful memories of your father. I always enjoyed the times I spent with your family and will always remember your dad fondly.
Big Brother Jim - you watched over me since I was a little kid. I feel fortunate to have such a loving and caring older brother. I will miss your sound advice and gentle guidance. With Love Kevin Charles
Dear Carol, Jim was a very good friend of mine at Cretin. We were in the same 103 advisory with brothers Denis and Thomas. We only saw each other a few times after we were graduated, but our friendship remained strong. I won't say good bye, my friend, for you and I will meet again. He will always be remembered with affection. John Goswitz Cretin 1951
Sincere condolences to the Finlay family on
the death of James, will remember you in our
prayers. Ted and Mary Finlay,Ennis, Co. Clare.
Dear Carol and family....very sorry to hear of Jim's passing earlier this week...in addition to working with both him and John here at the courthouse for many years, I also knew Jim as one of the premier motor carrier lawyers in Minnesota in the 70s and early 80s. All of the judges had such respect and appreciation for his handling of Commitment Court for so many years. Those can be very difficult cases and often involve complex mental health, chemical dependency, family and probate law issues. Obviously, it takes a person with special skills to work through such a maze. And his experince was invaluable....it took such a great burden off the rest of the court for many years....and we are all very grateful....I am leaving such a long message because I just found out that the wake and mass will be tomorrow morning and I hace court beginning at 9:00. If I can stop by before work to pay my respects, I certainly will. Again, my sympathy to you for allour loss.....Judge Jack VandeNorth
