John was a great man and loved with all his heart. I think of him often and still get a smile on my face. He had a way of doing that even on the worst days. I will always remember the time I got to spend with The Austin family. He told me once while I was helping him with stuff that I was an angel....Now he is an angel watching over us all.
It was a pleaeure to know John, he made us welcome when we joined Gertie in 2003 and he and Jack had lot of conversations on motocycles as well. He was always outgoing to all and we will also miss him. Kari and family our hearts are with you now.
We are deeply saddened by John's passing. He was a great neighbor and friend. We will miss his humor and late night walks. Rest in peace our friend.
John was such an energetic person with lots of ideas and the knowledge and perseverance to see them through. We and all of the Gallopin' Gertie members will miss him so much.

Sorry to hear of John's passing. Knew him in his Weyerhaeuser days. He had great spirit and was a damn good economist. Being a U of M grad was a plus!!
John devoted a great deal of time working to make the Frederickson community a better place to live, work and play. We belonged to many of the same community organizations and it didn't take long for us to become fiends. We shared a love of the automobile and I found that he could tune a Model A with and a couple of wires soldered to a tail light bulb. I'll never ever forget him. Rest in peace my friend.
I can't really remember when I first met John. Definitely we worked together well when he was a newbie at the Economic Development Board and I was a newbie too at the Chamber of Commerce. Never knew anyone else who was always dependably cheerful, so professional and an absolute joy to work with. That we could love so many of the same things - community, cars, family - only made it even better.
A very special person we were lucky to know. All our love to his family.
John was an important member of the Frederickson community. He will be missed dearly.
It's been several years since we have seen John and his family, but we remember
him as a kind and fun-loving man. He will be missed by all who knew him. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you
at this sad time. Jackie (Gretzinger) Whorton and Mark and Ingrid Gretzinger
John was the "spark plug" of the business community of Frederickson; he is missed.
We are saddened to learn of John's passing. There was a tribute for John several years ago that showed the many hats that John wore throughout his lifetime. Yes, many, many hats there were. He was an active and beloved gentle-man. Our hearts and prayers go with him and his wonderful family.
John, I am already missing you but the good lord has priority and I am sure you are with him right now. May you forever rest in peace. Your family you left here on earth seems to be doing quite well but they sure miss you also. God bless you John and thanks for being a good friend. Dick Burton
I will miss him. He was a great friend.

Although I didn't know you for that long John, I know that your family will miss you terribly. Only good words were said while you were with us. May you rest in peace.
I was saddened to learn of John's passing. We worked together on economic development issues. Also shared a passion for skiing Crystal Mountain. He will be missed by many friends. My thoughts and prayers are with family members during this time of loss.
