Great guy!! Deepest Sympathy to the family.
My heart was so heavy when I heard about Mr. Hennessey passing. He was my math teacher at Washington Jr High in the early 80's and I also did school service for him. He made Algebra fun to learn and was just so darn cool. I will always remember him telling me about his trips, the last one about Jamaica. He said it was so beautiful that I should go there at least once in my life. RIP my favorite teacher EVER. God bless his wife, son and other family n friends.

So sad to learn of Mr. Hennessey's passing. He was my favorite Math teacher at Central High School. Mr. Hennessey was one of the few math/science teachers during that time period who really understood the importance of providing a STEM curriculum to students of all races, genders and social economic status. More importantly, he made Algebra/Trig and Advanced Algebra FUN and accessible. Always looked forward to attending his classes.
I also appreciated how Mr. Hennessey encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and explore the "mysterious world" of math, science and engineering. While I ultimately did not become one of those pioneering women engineers of the early 80s, that solid base in Algebra/Trig is what helped me survive, thrive and ultimately graduate from Marquette University.
Extending my sincerest condolences to his wife, children, family and friends for his loss. Thanks Mr. Hennessey--R.I.P.
