Loretta's beautiful face leapt off the page of the newspaper at me today. I smiled sadly at the news of her passing while remembering the absolute passion she had for life and how she shared it with all those around her. She treated me like a beloved daughter, as I'm sure she did all of her own daughters' friends. I'll never forget her enduring glamor and "hipness," the stories of her adventures during "the war," her interest in my own life, how she called me "Beautiful," or our fun times at "the Lex." Here's to you beautiful Loretta! Every time I sip a champagne cocktail, I'll think of you.
