I never had the privilege to fly with Bob at NorthwestNorthwest but he was my Squadron Commander when I joined the Minnesota Air National Guard. I remember my first flight bag was a hand me down from Bob. I was so proud honored to have his bag that I kept it throughout my nineteen year career in the guard. At the end of my career when I became the Squadron COMMANDER I finally had to trade in it had become so worn and tattered. I have wished many times since that I had donated it to the guard museum. He was one great and highly respected person.

Bob was a very colorful character when I first hired on with Northwest Airlines in 1968. He was well thought of and a joy to fly with. May God welcome him...and my prayers and thoughts go out to his family and loved ones.
