Proud U.S. Navy Veteran Retired Bricklayers Local #1 Age 87, of Maplewood, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on April 26, 2014, following his 7th battle with cancer. Preceded in death by beloved wife, Grace; son, Mark; parents, Walter & Evelyn; brothers, Jerry & Kenneth; and son-in-law, Brent Davis. Survived by his cherished children, Joyce, David (Sandy), Deanna (Scott) Rykal, Lucy (Sherm) Hoberg; his adored grandchildren, Brent (Barb) Davis, Michelle (Jim) Friedel, Sandy (Jared) Turner, Kristi Davis (Kirk Larson), Scott Christensen, Anna Narow, Mark (Stacy) Christensen, Kim (Bob) Musech, Jacki (Chris) Koehne, Lindsay Johnson, Katie Rykal (David Mills), Katrina (Siah) St. Clair, Jake & Jason Hoberg; his treasured great-grandchildren, Ryan (Amy) D., Brandon, Zach, Mike, Kyle, Ryan M., Macy, Trenton and Siah; sister-in-law, Carol Christensen; dear friend, Rosemary Beane; as well as his beloved nieces, nephews and many friends. A special thanks to all of the doctors and nurses at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, especially, Dr. Kristopher Hartwig and Susan Grzywinski, RN; and roommate Ralph. Funeral service 11 AM Friday, May 2 at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 499 Charles Ave., St. Paul. Interment Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation from 4-8 PM Thursday at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dear Christensen family,
Please accept my condolences for Ron's passing. His service to our nation was unmatched with true heroism and valor.
He has now taken the final portage to heaven where the everlasting waters are flowing without any more battles to fight. The final battle has been won for Ron.

Dearest Grandpa, My heart aches that u are gone but it helps to know that you are now at peace and reunited with grandma, the love of your life. I'm so blessed and lucky to have had in my life for 38 years. I will forever cherish all the memories ( and jokes) that u have created for me. Brandon, kyle, and I love u so much and will never forget you! Kyle is sad that u wont be able to fish with him this summer but i told him u woukd be there in spirt to help him catch those big fish.
