Dr. Allen is the BEST. growing up we were not able to go to the dentist so when I was 19 or 20 and had a job I started going to Dr Allen and been going every since, I am 52 and never been to anyone else unless he sent me to get a root canal ect. He is very missed but I know he has more rewards up in heaven than we can imagine. God Bless this precious family and be the strength and comfort they will need.
My condolences to the Allen family. Dr. Allen was my dentist as well as my wife's dentist since Dr. Eugene Allen retired. Dr. Eugene Allen was my dentist since the mid 1950's when he was located on University Place just north of Front Street. I was only a kid at that time. I always had the deepest respect for Both Dr. Don and Dr. Eugene Allen. My prayers go out to all the Allen family.

Dear Cece, Children, and office staff,
We were so shocked to hear of Don's passing and we will miss him greatly as our friend and dentist of 26 years. He was the most gentle person I've ever known. Respectful and kind. His office staff showed the same friendliness as he did and I told people who were disappointed in their dentists about them. Where will we find another like him?
We wish the best for you all.
Love and prayers,
Andy and Dorlene Anderson
Having first known Don and his parents during his High School days at REL when I coached him as one of our star tennis players, it was always known that he would "shine" at whatever he chose to do. I was especially pleased when he followed his father's footsteps as a health care provider and enjoyed having him as a colleague. His affable mannerisms as well as his gentle, caring nature will be missed. Blessings to his family.
Our heartfelt sympathy to the Don Allen family, and his office family. He was a fine man, our dentist and our friend. May God bless and comfort you all.

It's hard to put into words the effect Dr. Allen had on me after we'd completed our trip up to Minnesota. While the only times I was able to truly talk to him was during Venture Crew related activities, each time was just as fun as the last. Dr. Allen made everything that much more exciting, with his humor, smile, and just his bright outlook on life. He was a great dentist, a great Venture Crew leader, and an even greater friend.
CeCe and children,
what a sweet man Don was. He became my dentist after Eugene retired and it was always a pleasant visit to the dentist. Please know you are and will be in my prayers as you go through these days of changes.
I have not seen Dr. Allen since I was in college, but he was my dentist ever since I was young. He would always gladly take my school pictures that I would give to him. Years later in high school I would see my pictures from 3rd or 4th grade (younger years) fall out of the file. Even then it meant a lot to me that my dentist would even think of keeping anything other than dental records. He was always nice and not only cared about my dental hygiene but cared about my school work and family. He was a great man. I never minded going to the dentist because he and his staff were always so sweet. I'm sure he treated everyone with such warmth and compassion and he will be missed. Prayers and love to his family.
Dear Allen Family--
I must have been among Don first patients in Tyler and have enjoyed knowing him and being treated by him and his excellent staff all these years. I know everyone who knew and loved him is devastated by his loss. My husband and I send our sincere condolences to all of you.

Donnie was a uniquely kind and generous person. Soft-spoken but steadfast in his beliefs, he was a tremendous asset to the community not only as a doctor, but as a father, a neighbor and as a leader of young people in the Scouting world.. We were honored to call Donnie our friend. He is and will be sorely missed.
